Accessories: Acoustic Pressure Equalizer
Sonodore AP-25, AP-32
Acoustic Pressure Equalizer, Ø25mm, Ø32mm balls for RCM-402 and CCM-65.
Experience learns that if omnidirectional microphones are placed relatively far away from
the musical instruments, the result sounds somewhat dull.
This also applies to the Sonodore RCM-402 and CCM-65.
To solve this problem the PG-78 and PG-88 grids are availible.
This will give your recordings greater presence, nearness and clarity on-axis.
There are situations in which the high frequency boost of the grids are not enough.
In that case the AP-25 or AP-32 can be used.
When the PG-88 is used in combination with the AP-25: the rise of the high frequencies
is a plateau of +2dB from 4KHz to 20KHz.
When only the PG-88 is used: the rise of the high frequencies has a peak at approximately
+2,5dB at 20 kHz.
When the PG-78 is used in combination with the AP-32: the rise of the high frequencies
is a plateau of +3,5B from 4KHz to 15KHz.
When only the PG-78 is used: the rise of the high frequencies has a peak at approximately
+3,5dB at 15 kHz.
It is recommended to use the AP-25 with the grid PG-88 and to use the AP-32 with the grid
PG-78 otherwise only the midrange willl be boosted.
When the Acoustic Pressure ball is used, more directionality at higher frequencies (focus)
will occure and a slight change in the direction-to-reverberation ratio.
Increase of the high frequencies with the AP-25 and PG-88: +2dB
Increase of the high frequencies with the AP-32 and PG-78: +3,5dB
